Wave Types Explained

Open Wave

The standard race experience designed for all fitness levels where participants can tackle obstacles at their own pace, help each other, and focus on personal achievement rather than competition.

Age Group

A competitive category where racers compete against others in their specific age bracket (typically in 5-year increments), with official timing, strict adherence to obstacle completion rules, and potential qualification for championship events.

Elite

The premier competitive category for top athletes who race head-to-head for cash prizes, podium placement, and championship qualification points, with mandatory obstacle completion and no outside assistance allowed.

Many medals are tossed in a drawer, but not these. Spartan medals are earned, not given. Your finisher medal also comes with a special magnetic wedge that fits together with others to form the coveted Spartan Trifecta!
